Mò Fan's response left President Hàn Jì momentarily stunned.
Isn't it supposed to be a grand vow filled with thunder and lightning!
However, after a moment of reflection, Hàn Jì felt at ease. The dangers awaiting them under the Abyss of Evil were truly unpredictable; even Lú Huān, who was a High Mage, remained in unknown danger. Could they even see the Ancient King?
Hàn Jì turned away and left.
Regardless of how imposing his golden armor looked, it could not mask his age or the weary exhaustion from worrying about the safety of an entire city.
Mò Fan didn't know if his casual words had hurt him, but in any case, the Abyss of Evil was right before them. The path ahead was shrouded in mystery and death. He was a fake descendant of the king; without the Holy Spring, he would have already been torn to pieces long ago.
"Let's go; we don't have much time," said Fāng Gǔ.
Mò Fan nodded. Just as he was about to reply, he saw a slender figure caught in swirling evil winds.
She seemed trapped within those fierce and chaotic winds, swaying like a blade of grass, at any moment ready to be torn apart...
Mò Fan recognized her immediately; his heart stirred.
"It's Liú Rú!"
"She seems unable to withstand the evil winds."
"This stupid girl!" Mò Fan cursed. His voice still carried in the wind as he transformed into a black shadow and rushed towards her.
Thankfully, Liú Rú wasn't too far away. Otherwise, she would have been pulled into the vortex of evil winds by them. No matter how hard Mò Fan tried to save her, there was no way he could rescue her from that terrifying vortex.
Mò Fan grabbed Liú Rú. He could feel a frenzied force pulling her toward the Abyss with immense strength.
Mò Fan was dragged along as well. Fāng Gǔ, Sū Xiǎo Luò, and Zhāng Xiǎo Hóu also rushed to help, each grabbing Liú Rú. In the end, they were all pulled towards the Abyss by that force.
"Little mudfish, add some light!"
Mò Fan hugged Liú Rú tightly, trying to use the Holy Spring's power to protect her.
Fortunately, with Liú Rú's slender figure, the small soul light barrier, originally meant for a single person, managed to squeeze in an extra Liú Rú and barely protected them both together.
The pulling force finally vanished, and they all sighed deeply.
"Big sister, you don't care about your life, do you?" Mò Fan glared at her.
"I… I just wanted to see you off… Who knew I'd get dragged in…" Liú Rú's face turned red; she was lying, but Mò Fan held her so tightly that it felt like a hug from a suffocating embrace!
"Thankfully, I'm not one of those ghost descendants. Otherwise, you would have been torn apart," said Mò Fan. "That president… where is he?"
Just as Mò Fan intended to ask Hàn Jì to take Liú Rú back, he realized that the old man was already nowhere in sight.
"It's impossible to send her back; we must go down with her. Since your Holy Spring can protect her from the evil winds tearing apart, it's likely she won't be harmed if we jump," Fāng Gǔ said.
"Let's hurry," said Sū Xiǎo Luò.
In that situation, Mò Fan had no choice but to agree. Still, Liú Rú's concern moved him deeply; however, it was useless now. They needed to survive first before doing anything else...
