Suburbs of Shanghai.
In a meeting room filled with packed boxes in an office building over twenty floors high, a man with brown hair and a prominent nose sat across from Li Tinghui on one side of the table. He seemed to be waiting quietly for something.
The hanging clock on the wall ticked silently until it struck the hour, producing a light click.
As if interrupted by this sound, Li Tinghui, who had been sitting motionless, finally moved.
Taking a deep breath, he closed the contract lying on the table.
"Lo siento, no puedo aceptar vuestra oferta."
This was not an acquisition agreement for "Bibibe Charging," but rather for himself. Unsurprisingly, Mr. Bivis' offer was indeed very tempting.
He had struggled to secure a million dollars in funding by trading 60% of his shares with Starlight Technology, but that money wasn't even his own. Now, Tesla offered to buy the remaining 40% of his shares for one million dollars.
If he agreed, he would receive this one million immediately.
Of course, accepting it would also mean losing control over Bibibe Charging. His company would transform from a promising charging station enterprise into a battleground between Starlight Technology and Tesla in the domain of charging stations.
Wireless charging?
It sounded promising, but depending on it to compete with Tesla's substantial financial resources was too far-fetched.
Once they launched their product, the market in Shanghai would already be dominated by Tesla's subsidiary.
Shangguan Wangqiang, the company's technical director, walked over to Li Tinghui as he left. He glanced out of the window at the receding Tesla Model and asked softly.
"Señor Li, ¿es esa gente de Tesla?"
No only Wangqiang was asking this question; several other employees in the office were discreetly watching them.
Silent for a moment, Li Tinghui nodded.
The room buzzed with surprised whispers.
Hearing his confirmation, Wangqiang's face lit up with hope and he sighed. ¿Venían a negociar financiamiento?"
"¡No!"
El silencio se hizo en el office.
Wangqiang, the technical director, opened his mouth wide in disbelief at Li Tinghui.
